The Harris Art Gallery, Tall Wall Space, and the Irene Carlson Photography Gallery comprise The University of La Verne Art and Photography Exhibition and Outreach Programs. It is the aim of the gallery Programs at The University of La Verne to advance artistic and cultural awareness through exhibitions, artists' lectures, workshops, and symposia in synergy with the art and art history programs in the University's College of Arts and Sciences. The Carlson Photography Gallery opened in 1990 and exhibits the work of artists and journalists working in photography and digital media. The Harris Art Gallery opened in 1996 and is recognized as a distinctive space for the exhibition of contemporary art by professional and student artists.

The mission of the Harris Art Gallery reflects the University's commitment to diversity and quality in education by developing excellent contemporary art exhibitions for the University and local communities, providing students and others access to the wider art community, and confronting a diverse range of ideas as expressed through contemporary art and fostering a discourse around these issues.

The gallery is located in the Landis Academic Center on the campus of The University of La Verne in La Verne, California. La Verne is approximately 30 miles east of Los Angeles.
