On Feb. 13 the African American Student Alliance held a discussion about gender roles in the black community as part of its Blackout Week. Ryan Figgs, Justin Jerry and Marlindy Bratton gathered to discuss issues such as homosexuality, interracial relationships and stereotypes. The discussion, held in the President’s Dining Room, was one of several events sponsored by AASA during the week. Other events included a financing workshop, black music past and present and a Southern feast.
