Help clean up Pomona

Local college age, high school and junior high students in the Pomona area are invited to come and volunteer for a day of graffiti clean-up, live music, free food and college information at the Pomona City Clean-up on April 29 at Ganesha Park. The event will give high school students the opportunity to become acquainted with the local colleges including the University of La Verne. Because of ULV’s vast representation of multicultural life, the event will give high school students a unique chance to meet other students from around the globe. The event can also give international students the chance to see a different aspect of American life. Volunteers are needed to become living art for the event – costumed statues or creatures that will appear and hand out pens and souvenirs. For more information e-mail tempodulu@gmail.com or call ULV at (909) 593-3511, Ext. 4915.

Fulbright Scholar Event

Fulbright Scholar Erika Zemkova will discuss her current research and personal experiences involving sports science and medicine in her upcoming visit to the University at 6:30 p.m. on March 21 in the Harris Art Gallery, as well as several athletic training education classes.

For more information contact Paul Alvarez at (909) 593-3511, Ext. 4259.
