Los Angeles County Fair

Join the Fair for its final days this weekend at the Fairplex.

The highlights of today include the Covina, Fontana and West Covina Day Parade at 5:30 p.m., the 24th annual barbeque contest and the Live! dessert contest.

Saturday will feature the father/son look-alike, the stomp and scurry race and the spaghetti eating contest.

Illumination

ULV’s top 10 Homecoming nominees will be revealed at 10 p.m. Oct. 9 in front of Founders Hall.

The spectacle is themed with the sights and sounds of Paris.

Harvest Festival

Old Town La Verne is hosting its Harvest Festival on Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on D and Third streets. A petting zoo and a scarecrow contest will be featured.

MOMS Club

The MOMS Club of La Verne is having an open house at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 5 in the Foothills Lutheran Church of La Verne.

Working and stay-at-home mothers are invited to meet other mothers and find playmates for their children.

Rodeo Pageant

The 2007 Miss Rodeo California Pageant will be held from Oct. 3 to Oct. 6 in San Dimas.

The pageant will include a horseman ship competition, bio-speech, impromptu modeling, California speech and a coronation dinner.
