Diana Zarate The Campus Activities Board has crowned the team Does it Matter as the World Series of Pop Culture champions. Once again a very excited crowd filled Davenport Dining Hall on Oct. 1 to see which team would come out on top and win the title of pop culture champions. The last five teams that remained for the semi-finals were Arma Get It On, Ramrod, Delta Love, Winners and Does It Matter. One of the teams, Winners, was not able to participate that night leaving the four remaining teams to compete for the title. Nate Stephens, a member of Does It Matter, began feeling a little tense while on stage. “I was so nervous, my heart was pounding. I thought I wouldn’t be able to stand,” Stephens said. “I was surprised I made it to the finals, let alone win.” In the first face-off of the night, Ramrod and Does It Matter went head to head with categories including “Baseball Films,” “Child Actors,” “‘90s Bands” and “Hollywood Gossip.” Ramrod was eliminated after the first round of the night. The next two teams up were Arma Get It On and Delta Love. After answering questions about “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Tim Burton Films,” “Popular Movie Quotes” and “Alien Movies,” Delta Love lost. Arma Get It On and Does It Matter competed against each other for the final round. Both teams answered questions about “Chris Farley Films,” the musical “Grease” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” By this time, Stephens was the last member standing for his team. The final category was “Reality TV Shows,” which led to the tie-breaking question about “Saved By The Bell” characters in which Does It Matter won. “Nate Stephens killed it,” Billy Nicolini, a sophomore undeclared major, said. “We’ll probably have one next semester because it was such a hit,” said Claire Bodenhoefer, CAB games/recreation and spirit chair.
