Flu Vaccine

The Student Health Center will be offering the immunization against most kinds of influenza.

The immunization will be offered Oct. 23 to Nov. 10 for a fee of $14.

ULV ID and consent form are required.

Finding Love

Vondie Lozano, a marriage and family therapist, will discuss “Finding Real Love: Trick or Treat?” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 19 at the Presidents Dining Hall.

She will address why it can be difficult to find that “special someone.”

Nader Speech

Consumer advocate and former presidential candidate Ralph Nader will speak at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the Bridges Auditorium at the Claremont Colleges.

The lecture will be the inaugural event for the new speaker series, “Dining with Democracy.”

Tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster, at Pitzer College’s Gold Center Service Desk and at the front door, they are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Hot Spots

David Hollinger, chair of the department of history at the University of California Berkeley, will speak at 11 a.m. on Oct. 19 in La Fetra Auditorium as part of the “Hot Spots” series.

The lecture is titled, “Religious vs. Secular Liberals: Finding Common Ground Against the Religious Right.”

Halloween Hop

The San Gabriel/Pomona Valley Foundation Regional Center and the city of La Verne will host the Halloween Hop dance for the developmentally disabled 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Community Center Main Hall.

Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased at the Parks and Community Services Office located in City Hall.
