Letter to the Editor

Posted Oct. 27, 2006

Dear Editor,

I was saddened to read “Homophobia floats to the surface” [Oct. 20]. As a faculty member for the past 12 years, I have been among groups of faculty who have attended educational sessions and conferences to expand and salify the inclusive attitude that the mission of the University of La Verne expects of us. I hope that any of my students who feel they are not being treated in an inclusive way would share with me their concerns. College is an important time for self-awareness and exploration. It should not be a time for shutting out anyone.
