Katrina's Aftermath

ABC 7’s Karen Carlson, the first reporter to arrive on the scene to cover Hurricane Katrina, is coming to the La Verne campus to discuss her coverage of the New Orleans disaster. She will be speaking from 2:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. on Nov. 16 in ACB 212.

Environmental Lecture

Brazilian scholar and environmental scientist Marcos Pedlowski will speak on the topic, “The Amazon, Deforestation and Climate Change: Local and Global Connections.” The event will take place next Thursday at 10 a.m. in La Fetra Hall. Pedlowski is visiting ULV as part of International Education Week.

Farewell Reception

A farewell reception will be held next Friday for Yvette Underdue-Murph, coordinator of articulation, in the President’s Dining Room from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Festival of Reading

The Literacy Center is holding a free Fall Festival of Reading tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include a book fair, presentations by local authors, a free book giveaway, crafts and activities for children, free lunch, prizes and raffles.
