Personal Psychotherapy Requirement
The capacity for objective self-awareness and an
appreciation of the psychotherapeutic process are
important aspects of an individual's development
as a clinician. The Psy.D. program encourages
this process by requiring that all students complete
a minimum of 40 hours of personal psychotherapy
during the course of their enrollment.
Although the Psychology Department maintains a
referral network of practitioners who are willing to
work with students at reduced fees, it is the
responsibility of the individual student to meet the
cost of his or her personal psychotherapy.
