Concentration in Information Management

Core Curriculum (15 semester hours)

Designed by industry professionals, the core courses provide the key competencies essential for effective healthcare management. All MHA students must complete the following three unit core courses:

HSM 501 Recent Trends and Issues in Health Services
HSM 502 Financial and Cost Analysis
HSM 503 Healthcare Economics
HSM 580 Economics of Managed Care
HSM 504 Organizational Communications

Health Information Management (12 semester hours)

Designed for professionals interested in gaining an in-depth understanding of the complex field of health services information technology. The multi-faceted curriculum addresses the effective management of clinical, financial, and managerial information systems, and practical applications in utilization of integrated decision support systems and networks.
