Designed by industry professionals, the core courses provide the key competencies essential for effective health services management. All MHA students must complete the following core courses:
Managed Care (12 semester hours)
Designed for professionals interested in adapting and thriving in the evolving managed health care environment. Specific areas of study include methods to design and negotiate contracts and monitor contract compliance and quality indicators; financial and accounting principles to identify contract risk, rates, and revenue optimization strategies; and communication tools to maintain positive relationships among peers, providers and management.

Designed as the culminating activities to integrate critical thinking needed to become scholarly practitioners.
