MSLM Goals, Objectives, and "Proposed" Program Description
The University of La Verne (ULV) Master of Leadership and Management (MSLM) curriculum is designed to educate/develop effective future leaders for all types of organizations. The design of our curriculum integrates management and leadership theories with real-world applications. ULV MSLM students should expect to develop:
- Solid interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Problem solving and decision making skills in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
- A commitment to ethical and socially responsible behavior in a diverse working environment.
- A mastery of the human aspects of an organization.
In particular, at the completion of the Master of Science leadership and Management, students should be able to:
- Design an effective organization.
- Evaluate different leadership styles and utilize the one(s) that best promote organizational objectives.
- Evaluate techniques used to bring about organizational change and to choose appropriate one(s).
- Communicate effectively both in a written format and verbally.
- Manage team work, group behavior, group dynamics, and group interactions in a diverse environment.
- Identify organizational problems and opportunities and formulate appropriate courses of action.
- Solve organizational problems in an ethical and socially responsible manner.
