As a professionally oriented program, the Master of Public Administration at the
University of La Verne:

Prepares students for careers in public and non-profit administration at the local, state, national, and international levels

Strengthens the competence of those currently serving in the field of public administration and non-profit management

Prepares those interested in doctoral studies
The Master of Public Administration degree at the University of La Verne is designed to prepare students for careers in public service. We achieve this mission by pursuing five objectives:
- To develop an advanced understanding of the public to be served.
- To build theoretical foundations for leadership and management in the public and non-profit sectors.
- To understand the ethical dimensions of the public sector.
- To strengthen analytic and decision-making capacity of public and non-profit administration.
- To integrate theory and practice of public administration.
The MPA program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and
Administration (NASPAA).
The main features and benefits of the M.P.A. Program include:
- small class size ensures personal attention, networking, and a high level of interaction among students and faculty
- evening and weekend classes are designed to fit the schedule of working professionals
- well-qualified faculty members who are highly-competent professionals with a personal understanding of the current workplace
- year round coursework allows students to begin the M.P.A. in any of four terms (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer)
- a highly diverse institution, drawing students, faculty, and staff from an interesting variety of backgrounds, professions, and disciplines.
- a computerized research laboratory, available for student research and other study projects
MPA Academic Calendar
MPA students attend classes in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer terms. New students may begin their study at the beginning of any term of their choice.
