The elements of earth, wind and fire are molded together at Gainey Ceramics as a dust laden Jose "Chuy" Guzman dons his finishing knife on yet another jigger pot. For the past 48 years, workers have toiled among drying rooms and 2,000-degree F kilns manufacturing ceramic and terra cotta products at the family owned and operated business.

Soft spoken, hard working and relentlessly fulfilled is Robert Sturrock, owner of Sturrock's Christmas Tree Farm in San Dimas. Sturrock started the tree farm in 1961 and has made it successful, selling 2,500 trees in 1996 and 700 in 1997.
