

Kirsten Ogden earned her B.A. in Drama Therapy from San Francisco State University while training in performance with the American Conservatory Theatre Academy. She earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she was an editor with the national literary journal Permafrost. Kirsten is a multi-genre writer: her plays and short stories have been performed on several university and community stages in Louisiana and in San Francisco; her screenplay The Funeral Dress placed in the Chesterfield Film Writer's Competition; her poetry has appeared in numerous on-line and in-print journals, including Slipstream, Phoebe, A.I.M: America's Intercultural Magazine, Wilmington Blues, Arsenic Lobster and Poetry Motel; her book reviews and essays have appeared in several magazines including Teaching Tolerance. She is active in the Los Angeles writer's scene as a member of the LA Poets & Writer's Collaborative, performs locally at Slam events, and works with the California Poets in the Schools program and WordProcessPoets.
