Seniors Kristie Cargill and Stephanie Brown take their turn rocking in the fourth annual Phi Sigma Sigma Rock-A-Thon on the La Verne campus. Nationally the Rock-A-Thon began in 1971 to raise money for the organization's philanthropy, the National Kidney Foundation. Each Phi Sigma Sigma member had two three-hour shifts over a 24-hour period. They began rocking on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and concluded Wednesday at 3 p.m. The sorority raised over $3,000 last year and raised over $200 in donations during the 24-hour period, when they also handed out information on kidney disease.
