At the Fairplex

The Model Train Expo makes its way to the Fairplex this weekend, showcasing the finest models. makes and layouts of model trains from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

General Admission is $8, free for children 12 and younger.

“Envisioning the Future,” an artistic collaboration between renowned artist Judy Chicago and nationally recognized photographer Donald Woodman, will continue to be presented at the Millard Sheets Gallery.

This unique event, a combination of arts and the community, will continue now through Sunday.

In Theaters

Set in Cuba, in the late 1950s, “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights” re-imagines the era and sensuality that was brought to the big screen in 1987 by the film phenomenon “Dirty Dancing” starring Patrick Swayze. “Havana Nights” offers a new perspective on love and dancing, in a pre-revolutionized Cuba. Starring Romola Garai, Diego Luna, and a special appearance by Swayze, himself, Havana Nights hits theaters today.

“Goodbye Lenin,” directed by Wolfgang Becker, is the account of the struggles a loving son must face when trying to convince his ailing mother that capitalism has not surfaced in her beloved hometown of East Germany. Set in 1989, this tale of an attempt to hide the fall of the Berlin Wall opens in limited release today.

“Twisted,” a crime-thriller starring Ashley Judd and Samuel L. Jackson, is the story of a newly promoted police detective on the hunt for a serial killer targeting men she has recently dated. Directed by Philip Kaufman, it hits theaters today.
