Conference for peace

The Third Annual Organizing for Peace Conference, co-sponsored by On Earth Peace, the University of La Verne and the La Verne Church of the Brethren, will be held in La Verne, March 11-14.

The purpose of the conference is to help participants work together in the peacemaking process.

Areas to be addressed are exploration of racism, classism and prejudice, and the basis of spiritual roots.

Featured speakers include biblical scholar Ched Myers; Daniel Loera, interim director of the Institute For Multicultural Research and Diversity at ULV; and Rev. James Lawson, a colleague of Martin Luther King, Jr.
