A walk-out was held Wednesday to protest the impending war on Iraq; it was one event in a week long Peace Fair. Activist Mauricio Terrazas spoke of the need for Americans opposed to war to constantly make their voices heard until the U.S. government listens. He will be presenting an anti-war resolution to the La Verne City Council on March 17, urging the city council to join over 100 other city councils across the country in support of peace and diplomatic options in dealing with Iraq. The small group that assembled at the Peace Pole joined in song.
