Monday afternoon gave the La Verne community a rare view of the "L"
representing La Verne College. It was carved in 1919, in the San Gabriel
Mountains, just north of the University. The yearly tradition of maintaining
the "L" was stopped in 1996 when the Forest Service denied the
University's permit due to environmental reasons. Today, students and residents
are rarely able to view this treasure.
The University of La Verne Chemistry Department can add another fine
professor to their list of greats, due to the arrival of a young and ambitious
assistant professor.
A young and vibrant yearbook staff at the University of La Verne is
currently putting together ideas that will make up the 2001-2002 Lambda
yearbook.
Core 305 students have the chance to volunteer to be a mentor for elementary
school children who need extra help with their studies.
