'Sorority Boys': The name says it all

"Sorority Boys" is probably the worst movie of the year, if not the past few years. This movie is essentially a brainless autopilot sitcom rip-off.

The best part of the movie is its title. The title explains the picture that goes with it; the picture explains the movie.

The jokes in the film are not funny.

This movie seems just to show just how easy it is to sell a screenplay to Hollywood producers.

"Sorority Boys," is directed by Wallace Wolodarsky and is written by Joe Jarvis and Greg Coolidge.

The movie is rated R, which is probably because it tries funny situations around sex.

A lot of the humor seems to be based on the increasingly common, if unfortunate, cross-dressing comedy genre. But this unfortunate film seems to be trying to give some sort of meaningful message about stereotypes and gender issues.

The film begins with a fraternity KOK (Kappa Omicron Kappa) throwing a party.

Three members in this fraternity, who comprise the social committee, get thrown out of KOK for being suspected of stealing from party fund, which was being saved for the big yearly cruise. So the three members decide to dress up in drag to go back into the KOK house to get evidence of who really stole the money.

Playing the three drag queens were Dave (Barry Watson) Daisy/Doofer (Holland Williams), Roberta/ Adam (Michael Rosenbaum), Adina.

In the process of dressing up in drag they get involved with a female sorority called DOG (Delta Omicron Gamma), which is made up of social outcasts. These young women dislike KOK because of the way they treat and take advantage of women. The DOG house, which is next door to KOK, is the continual butt of all of the KOK jokes --jokes that include flying vibrating dildos.

Leah (Melissa Sagemiller), the leader of DOG, finds she has a chemistry with Dave, but she thinks Dave is Daisy.

For certain plot points to make sense, the characters have to be mentally impaired. How, for example, do you explain fraternity brothers who don't recognize their own friends (even if they are in drag)?

The sorority sisters have to be blind to accept these so- called women into their sorority at first sight.

The film is devoid of wit unless you find unruly erections and straight guys trying to pick up on actual men clever.

Don't see "Sorority Boys" unless you have a strange desire to throw away your money. It's got to be the worst movie in theaters today.
