Freshman Valerie Keehmer, a driver for the University of La Verne womens water polo team, scored three goals, including the game winner, in the 7-6 overtime victory against Sonoma State April 4. The Leopards are currently 2-2 in conference play with an overall record of 5-13. Their next home match will be against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Returning a serve in her first game, Desiree Whipperman, No. 6 singles for the La Verne womens tennis team, was defeated by Aimme Fiore of Cal Lutheran in two games, 6-0, 6-2. The Leopards were shut out by Cal Lutheran, 9-0 on April 2. Their SCIAC record is now 2-4.
