USC law professor speaks at law school
Author and law professor at the University of Southern California Law School,
Edwin Chemerinsky will address Federal Bar Association members, government employees
and students at the fifth annual Chemerinsky Lecture.
The Future of Constitutional Law lecture runs from noon to 1:30
p.m. on April 27 at the University of La Verne College of Law and includes the
presentation of the Defender of the Constitution Award to U.S. District Court
Judge Robert J. Timlin.

Car wash
Phi Delta Theta is sponsoring a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and
Sunday in the parking lot of McDonalds at the corner of Fruit Street and
Foothill Boulevard.
Essay contest gives winner air-time
Political activists and essayists have a chance to win a trip to the Democratic
National Convention through the Speak out for the Future essay contest.
Young adults 18 to 24 are eligible to enter and submit a short essay online.
The topic centers on getting more young adults involved in politics.
Other benefits to the winner include addressing the Convention during prime
time television.
Commencement speakers 2004
Undergraduate speaker: Pat Morrison, Los Angeles Times columnist.
Graduate speaker: Rep. David Dreier.
Law speaker: Judge Stephen G. Larson.
Doctoral speaker: Dr. Douglas P. DeVore, superintendent, Encinitas Union
School District.
