Annual auto show in Pomona displays classics

Pontiacs, Porches, Impalas and many other antique cars were displayed in one of the the West Coast's largest car shows on Sunday at the Fairplex in Pomona.

Thousands of people gathered to see the antique cars from across the country.

George Cross and Sons, Inc., hosted the show designed to give people an opportunity to buy and sell antique cars.

Anthony Ribeau, owner of a Pontiac Safari was there to sell his car for $60,000. He repairs cars and sells them back.

Any car more than 27 years old is charged $100 for the show space.

"It is a one-day show only,"said Kim Cross, of Cross and Sons. "We have spaces for 3,000 vendors and we get 3,000 cars," she said.

Cross said the spaces are given on a first come first served basis.

She added there is a $20 fee for cars from before 1975.

She added that this show started as a hobby, but turned into a business.

Don Peralta, owner of a 1959 Impala convertible also came out Sunday to display his vehicle.

"It has about 50,000 miles and I am asking $38,000," Peralta said.

The next show will be June 2.
