Time to party like it’s 1943
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is hosting a screening of “The Song of Bernadette,” the 1943 best picture nominee, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Three other Oscar-nominated films from 1943 will also be shown. Tickets are $3 for students and Academy members and $5 general admission. Tickets will be available at the door. Doors open 6:30 p.m.

Fair is looking for artists
The Los Angeles County Fair is looking for entries for the 2005 Fine Art Competition and New Photography Exhibition, which runs with the Fair from Sept. 9 to Oct. 2.
