New A&S dean chosen

Fred Yaffe has been appointed the new dean of the University of La Verne College of Arts and Sciences, officials announced Wednesday.

Yaffe now serves as the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md.

"(Yaffe) embodies the mission of the University and will advocate the primacy of the student-faculty relationship in higher education," said Jonathan Reed, professor of religion and chairman of the committee that selected Yaffe for the job.
