Ever wondered how the rich stay rich? The American Financial Celebrities conference was at the Fairplex Tuesday explaining just that.
More than 2,000 people came out in hopes of learning new techniques on making money.
Armand Padua, a realtor from Walnut, went to the seminar to learn more about investment.
“The speakers are very reputable speakers,” Padua said. “And I want to get many ideas from each of them, and if only I could use one idea, I’ll be good.”
The conference started at 8 a.m. and went until 5:30 p.m. with six guest speakers all of whom took the stage for a little more than an hour.
Brian Tracy, author of “The 21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires,” was the first to speak.
Tracy is a native of Pomona and graduate of Ganesha High School.
He told his audience that the amount of money they are earning right now is the amount of money they’ve choose to earn.
Tracy went on to say that there are four common laws to success: good health, good relationships, meaningful work that pays well and having financial independence.
“If you have the skills to drive a car you can learn any money making skill,” Tracy said.
Bob Kittell, a stock expert, took the stage once Tracy finished explaining how to turn Wall Street into everyone’s own personal gold mine.
“This conference is not a get rich quick scheme,” Kittell said.
“It’s get wealthy eventually,” he added.
He explained two rules to investing. The first is, don’t lose money and the second is to not forget rule number one.
A workshop will be held on May 26 and 27 at the Double Tree Airport in Santa Ana on how to invest your money in the correct stock using a Web site called Investools.
Investools is a site for people to see if they should buy or sell their stocks.
Dale West, an accountant with an expertise in tax reduction and lawsuit protection, gave total asset protection strategies to the crowd.
“There are four ways in which to do this,” West said.
First, he said, income tax should be lowered up to 50 percent (legally).
Then cut capital gain taxes to zero, have zero estate taxes and zero probate and have 100 percent lawsuit protection using a family limited partnership.
Despite the crowded room and uncomfortable seating, everyone in the audience was very intrigued by each of the speakers.
Paul Moore of Ontario heard Kittell speak once before and was very interested in what the rest had to say.
“After receiving my VIP tickets in the mail, I was very excited to hear the speakers,” Moore said.
“Everything that Dale talked about were things I had never heard before,” he added. “I want to get a family limited partnership now not only for me but for my elderly mother.”
After a short lunch break, Meredith McIver, a close associate to real estate mogul Donald Trump, took the stage revealing secrets of how to think big, live large and invest wisely.
The day finished with two last guest speakers. One of them was Mark Walters, one of the nation’s leading financial investment experts, and the other was Lynn Alder, a real estate expert.
Alder revealed secrets on real estate investing while Walters gave tips on how to secure a steady income.
