The University of La Verne Career Development and Placement Center is
searching for a new assistant director to replace Jill Bergman, who went
on maternity leave in March.
The position, which staffers say calls for a generalist, will play
a key role in the department, said Center Director Laura Kiralla.
"The person will be focusing on strengthening our employee relations
as well as developing an alumni mentoring program," Kiralla said. "The
main thing is, is that they provide opportunities for our students."
Paula Verdugo has been the interim assistant director who stepped in
after Bergman left.
Last year Verdugo held the position of graduate career counseling intern.
She was given the interim position because of her familiarity with the
Career Center.
The Career Center, which has grown tremendously in the past few years,
will continue to expand and establish itself as one of the best resources
for students here, Kiralla said.
The assistant director position has been posted online.
