The University of La Verne golf team travelled to the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb., to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University and was ending competitive play press time Thursday.

ULV earned the second of three Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference bids in the West Region along with Redlands and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

A total of 120 golfers were present at the tournament and five of those were ULV players.

Golfers Joe Skovron, Joey Murray, Justin Assael, Mario DiCarlo and Andrew Garcia are representing ULV, who are ranked No. 18 in the tournament overall and No. 1 in the West Region after three rounds of play.

Murray sits in the seventh place spot on the leader board at +12. ULV's Garcia is not far behind, having shot +20 through three rounds of golf placing him in the No. 34 spot. Skovron, DiCarlo, and Assael hold the No. 75, 94, and 100 spots respectively.

La Verne sits atop of all other West Region teams, who hold the No. 20 and 21 spots.
