Those wandering through the Supertents recently may have noticed a few changes.

Several arcade games are among the sights they'll notice right off the bat, while the Commuter Lounge next to the mail center may be something that could take a little longer to be discovered.

Thanks to Deb Gordon, campus activities and commuter programs director, the tents are slowly being transformed into a more lively gathering place.

"The idea is to make this a student center," she said. "We are attempting to make this a tradition."

In addition to the video games, the Commuter Lounge has a Playstation game console with 10 games to check out and a computer with an Internet connection.

"We really want to make that place valuable for commuters," she said.

Snacks are also being sold at the student center desk.

The profit from the snacks is going to go toward paying off and purchasing new items, such as Playstation games, and will be put back into the fund to continually refurbish the student center.

Gordon said carpeting the Lounge cost $500, and there are plans to continually upgrade the pool cues and ping pong balls.

She also said things to look for in the future include a basketball freethrow game and a dart game, among other things.

"My goal is to keep upgrading," Gordon said.

"I want students to come out of their room and hang out," she said.
