Eddie From Ohio, a contemporary folk band that actually hails from Virginia, will be performing at McCabe’s in Santa Monica on Dec. 3. The band, which formed in 1991, is on tour to promote its ninth album, “This is Me,” which debuted on Oct. 19 under the band’s own label, Virginia Soul. The album is produced by Lloyd Maines, who won a Grammy Award in 2002 for his work on the Dixie Chicks’ “Home.” Eddie From Ohio has sold more than 100,000 albums, making it one of the most successful indie bands of modern times. “Attache,” US Air’s magazine, declared the group “The Greatest Band You’ve Never Heard Of.” For more information, visit the band’s Web site at www.eddiefromohio.com, or call McCabe’s at (310) 828-4403.
