Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
This letter is being written to thank Adeline Cardeñas-Clague and
Kathleen Odom for their wonderful clarification of the financial aid department
problems. I especially liked the quote from Odom stating, "We don't
lose forms." I am a senior, independent student who is married and
has a daughter. Getting my financial aid information in on time is the number
one priority in my academic life. I had been waiting for an award letter
only to find out three weeks before the semester that my financial aid file
was incomplete. That came as a big surprise to me, seeing as how I had taken
care of that several months ago. Where did my forms go, Kathleen Odom? I
guess they disappeared on their own from your perfectly-run department.
And now, since all the grant and aid money has all but been given out, I
am probably looking at taking out a $15,000 loan so I can get my degree
in May. On behalf of the Spicer family, let me personally thank both of
you from the bottom of my heart for putting my family into such financial
debt.
Scott Spicer
