Letter to the Editor
Campus Times
October 4, 1996
Dear Editor,
In response to the Sept. 27 edition of the Campus Times, in which the question,
"Should homosexuals be allowed to marry?" was asked of five ULV
undergraduates who gave their responses in the affirmative, the words of
Paul the Apostle speak to my heart, "Let no one deceive you with empty
words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons
of disobedience."
Marriage is a covenant between man and God for procreation purposes and
communion. I challenge each person to test their hearts and minds, considering
the devastation that "sin," and eternal separation from God will
have in their life.
The Bible teaches that we are all sinners and in no way can please God apart
from faith in Jesus Christ. Concerning homosexuality, God will judge this
sin just like any other, and will judge the American people if we continue
to explain away filth by preaching the false gospel of moral relativism.
God loves the homosexual. God's love is able to forgive all manner of sin
but the sin of rejecting His Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In addition,
we have a peaceful assurance in that, "If we confess our sins, God
is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness." It's a deal that only a stiff-necked fool could refuse.
Does that sound like you today? It was me yesterday, until I handed over
my vain life to Jesus Christ. Won't you also?
