On Saturday, Oct. 26, Musicantica, a group of four musicians, performed the music of southern Italy. The group consists of Roberto Catalano, Luciano Miele, and Enzo Fina, all from Italy, and Alissa Simon from New York. Catalano plays a one-stringed festival instrument typically used for dances. The instrument is made of cane and dried pig bladder and can be played like a cello or an upright bass. This is the second year the group has performed at La Verne.
