The trend for enrollment looks about the same as last year according to President Stephen Morgan. Final numbers will not be received until early October.

"Several graduate programs and off campus programs register through the end of this month," said Dr. Morgan.

Due to the late registration, the University could not pinpoint an enrollment number.

Dr. Morgan said that, from what he can tell, the number of students attending this year compared to last year, are very similar.

"I think La Verne will have to look at some new recruiting strategies in the future, if we want our enrollment to grow and we do want our enrollment to grow slowly over the next five years and we'll be working on that this fall," said Dr. Morgan.

When asked what types of programs have been used in the past to increase the numbers at ULV he replied, "The admissions office visits hundreds of high schools every fall and sends out thousands of mailers and we have a lot of interaction with high school counselors."
