Rideshare
Southern California Rideshare now offers free information on the Internet
for students living in the Los Angeles, Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San
Bernardino and Ventura counties for carpool, bus and rail services (http://www.scag.ca.gov/commute).
This gives students access to the regional rideshare database and a
list of carpool partners in their area.
Volunteers
Pomona Valley Red Cross Disaster Services is looking for volunteers,
who are willing to commit time to take training, attend practice drills
and respond when disasters strike.
All disaster volunteers need to attend one of the three hour Introduction
to Disaster Services classes. For more information, call (909) 622-1348,
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Financial Aid
Information on financial aid is now available on Sallie Mae's Web site
(http://www.salliemae.com).
The site offers a Financial Aid 101 course on several issues related
to paying for college to help the student gain an understanding of the financial
aid award process.
School in France
Now University of La Verne students are able to attend school in France,
through the Brethren Colleges. Students who have attended at least one year
of school at ULV may be eligible to travel to either Nancy or Strasbourg,
France, to take classes in language, literature, history, international
business, and various other offerings. To prepare for the trip students
are recommended to enroll in Elementary French or Intermediate French. For
