Art Shows

The Museum of Contemporary Art will present "Todo Cambia," (Everything Changes) a new installation by Cuban artist Kcho that demonstrates his observations and views on his country's life style to the rest of the world. Also being presented is Catherine Opie's self-titled exhibit that presents photographic work of urban architecture and infrastructure in Los Angeles. This takes place on Oct. 5-Feb. 8, 1998, at California Plaza, located at 250 South Grand Ave., Los Angeles. Call (213) 626-6222 for more information.

 

Queen Mary's Shipwreck

The Queen Mary welcomes victims to its Halloween activities. "The Shipwreck" will take place Oct. 10-12, 17-19, 24-31 & Nov. 1, from 7 p.m. to midnight and admission is $13 per person. "Queen of Scream" will take place on halloween night from 7 p.m.- 1 a.m. on the ship's original first-class dining room, The Grand Salon. The price is $29 per person. Poetry Contest

Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum invites poets to enter free of charge to their new "Awards of Poetic Excellence," poetry contest. Only one poem can be entered and may not exceed 20 lines. It can be any style or on any subject. The grand prize will be $500. Poems can be mailed to 609 Main St., P.O.
