Festival of Golf

On Monday, Oct. 27, the Pomona Valley Chapter American Red Cross will hold its annual "Festival of Golf" at Via Verde County Club, 1400 Estrada, San Dimas. The entry fee is $135, which includes golf, green fees and golf cart. Tee package for each golfer along with a continental breakfast and lunch. Registration and check-in will begin at 10 a.m. with the shotgun start at noon.

Brief Award

The University of La Verne College of Law at the Woodland Hills campus in San Fernando won the Best Petitioner's Brief Award at the Eighth Annual National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition.

Twenty-three teams competed and La Verne was represented by Raffy Astvasadoorian, Jeff Beaumont and Sam Ekizian. Their adviser was attorney David Glassman. The competition was at the San Diego County Courthouse Oct. 16-17.

OWLs needed

Orientation Week Leaders (OWLs) are needed for Orientation '98. Applications are available at 101 SRC and are due on Friday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m. OWLs help facilitate freshman orientation and University 100 courses. For information contact Kate Mueller at ext. 4805.
