The Associated Student Federation (ASF) Forum convened in the West Dining
Room on Nov. 12, and discussed recent changes to the budget, upcoming activities
such as the Free Day of Fun, Lip Sync Contest and the Holiday Dinner.
Activities
Committee members responsible for the Lip Sync contest announced that
14 Lip Sync acts are signed up. Prizes for second and third place have been
decided, though ASF members are still contemplating a first place prize.
Free Day of Fun committee members announced that the Free Day of Fun
is to take place Tuesday, Nov. 18. ASF members were encouraged to attend
the event and to help promote the event to the students.
Holiday Dinner plans were discussed. Members announced that a dance
will follow the dinner, which is scheduled for Dec. 9. Members are currently
looking for faculty members to host tables. They are also trying to decide
on a holiday gift.
Budget
With more than $30,000 in its contingency fund, the Forum was updated
on the money that was placed into the fund, which includes left over budgets,
such as the Homecoming, that were not exhausted and the Residence Hall Association's
budget, since the organization no longer exists. Forum members were reminded
to get clearance before spending money on activities.
