Letter to the Editor

Campus Times
November 14, 1997

Dear Editor,

It was a painful experience for me to read the staff editorial, "ASF's fire burned out" [Nov. 7], not because several points in the article were unsubstantiated or because of its sensational nature, but rather I was disturbed by a very weak attempt at humor. To quote: "The bonfire definitely did not Come to a Theatre Near You." Let me remind the Campus Times staff that this is ULV and not the Improv. This pathetic attempt at comedy was neither inventive or humorous. So, to fight fire with fire, or more appropriately, to fight bad humor with bad humor, I would like to offer this reminder to the Campus Times staff: The only person "disturbed" by the absence of the bonfire during Homecoming Week was the person in charge of disposing of all the leftover Campus Times issues. I sincerely apologize to that person for canceling a traditional, albeit traditionally bad, Homecoming event.
