Mark Bagley, diretor of development and sports information director,
will resign from the University of La Verne at the end of the month. Bagley,
a 1988 ULV graduate, is moving to Bellingham, Wash., to work for Western
Washington University as the director of annual giving. He has worked in
the University Relations office for nine years.
Mark Bagley, director of development for the University of La Verne
for the past three years, will be leaving La Verne this month for a similar
position at Western Washington University (WWU).
Bagley will be the director of annual giving at WWU.
"It's difficult to leave after nine years because La Verne has
meant so much to me," Bagley said. "But at the same time, it's
exciting to have another opportunity, face the challenges of a new job and
the excitement of living in another state."
His wife Annette, who teaches at ULV, and their 17-month-old daughter
Alexis are excited for the move. "Annette is originally from Washington,
so she is happy to get back to her home state," he said.
Bagley graduated from ULV in 1988 as a journalism major.
His positions at the University in the past nine years include working
in University Relations. He also has been the sports information director
for the past two years.
At Western Washington, he will oversee the Phon-A-Thon, the Parents
Program, the President's club, which is donors at the $1,000 level and other
general fundraising responsibilities. He will perform lot of similar duties
which he performed at ULV. The only duty he will not be doing in Washington
is event planning.
His last day at ULV will be Dec. 31. He will move to Washington in January
and he begins at WWU on Feb. 2.
Bagley said "being able to interact with alumni on a daily basis
and the chance to meet all the wonderful people I have worked with over
the years," are some fond memories that he will look back on.
