Variety show plans tryouts

There are many different people the University of La Verne. People wanting
to explore that diversity come sit back, relax and enjoy the Afrikan American
Student Alliance (AASA) variety show.
"We need to sit and enjoy the diversity of people," said junior
Tiffany Wilcher, AASA president.
Sign ups for the AASA variety show are taken at the Student Center desk.
Today is the final day to sign up and rehearsals begin on Monday, Feb.16.
The types of acts can be as diverse as the people participating. Monolouges,
poetry readings, rap, dance, and singing are among the most popular acts.
Floor Two Crew is a group of guys signed up to rap, and Page Three is
a singing group ready to show its talent.
"We are planning to make it something to remember forever, our
best showing ever," said senior Floor Two Crew member Liron Wilson.
The acts will be limited between five and seven minutes, the dance acts
being the longest.
Anyone is welcomed to sign up for the AASA variety show. It will take
place on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in Founders Auditorium.
For those who are not as bold to get on stage and would just like to
sit and enjoy the entertainment tickets will be sold at the door for $7.
With a valid ULV ID, tickets can be purchased ahead of time with a discount
of $3 to $4.
