Following a St. Patrick's Day party at Picasso's Bar and Grill, an altercation occurred in E-Bottom of the Oaks Residence Hall between four University and former students.

One of the ULV students involved was stopped by La Verne Police as he attempted to return to his Brandt Hall residence.

Senior Devin Carrillo was picked up at 2:44 a.m. on the morning of the March 18 by the LVPD at the Blickenstaff Tennis Pavilion.

LVPD Officer Jason Christofferson, on a self-initiated stop, found Carrillo and called the paramedics. He was then transported to Pomona Valley Hospital, where he was evaluated for multiple injuries and released at 4:30 a.m.

Police logs indicate the suspect being sought is named "Eric."

Multiple witnesses identified the four involved as Eric Britton and Kevin Johnstone, former ULV students, Carillo and senior Matt Durant.

Carillo and Durant were contacted, but refused to comment on the incident. Britton and Johnstone could not be reached, following several attempts.

Director of Campus Safety and Transportation John Lentz said, "We have gotten a lot of conflicting stories, and a lot of rumors going around that need to be sorted out and the police department is conducting an investigation."

Campus Safety Officer Kevin Kleinworth heard of the incident and went to the Oaks in search of witnesses. He observed blood in the area.

The morning after, the area was taped off due to amount of blood and security did not want any students to be contaminated. According to Joanne Gonzalez, director of housekeeping, the carpet had to be cleaned up and scrubbed twice.

"I woke up this morning and there was blood on the floor in the lobby by the door and the quad side entrance was roped off from the outside," said junior Jeremy Gonzales. "I was asleep and heard nothing."

"We certainly don't condone fighting in the residence halls. We certainly object to that," said Lentz.
