Junior Tom Moese eats, drinks and smokes in handcuffs, preparing for
his role as a demented criminal in "Gladiator." The one-act play
is directed by junior Melissa Negrete for Directing Studio. "It is
a about a journalist who is interviewing a convict who is in jail for life
and manages to hold the journalist hostage," said Negrete. During a
rehearsal Monday night, Moese and alumnus Alex Martinez, who plays the role
of the security guard, test their memorization, while junior Janet Torres
reads the lines of the journalist. The play opens March 31 and runs through
April 2.
