ASF Minutes
Campus Times
March 12, 1999
The University of La Verne's Associated Student Federation (ASF) Forum
met in the West Dining Room on Wednesday, March 10, at 8:37 a.m. Forum members
discussed upcoming plans for additional student activities-including another
bowling night. They reviewed the progress of ticket sales for this year's
spring dance and also allocated funds to benefit the Crippled Children's
Society.
Future Activities
Due to student turnout at its last bowling night, the Forum decided
to plan another bowling event sometime this academic year. Therefore, chairpersons
for the committee designated Tuesday, April 27, as the date for ASF's second
bowling night. The event is scheduled to take place at Chaparral Lanes in
San Dimas.
Dance Tickets
Members of the Forum will sell tickets for this year's spring dance
on Thursdays, March 11, 18 and 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seal.
Tickets are available for $20 per couple, $15 per person and $8 per
person for groups of 5 or more. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday,
March 26.
If 200 tickets are not sold by this date, the Forum will cancel the
event.
For information, contact the Forum at ext. 4677. Students may also purchase
tickets at the University Bookshoppe.
Charity Service
ASF Transfer Representative Britain Semain proposed to the Forum an
idea to help give back to the community through charity contributions.
Among the charities which ASF members discussed was the Crippled Children's
Society, a Claremont-based agency which provides crippled children with
development activities and programs. The Forum and its Community Service
committee allocated $500 to benfit this organization.
