Students and faculty gathered near the Rock on Tuesday for the third event scheduled in a week-long celebration of the Earth. Dr. Jay Jones, professor of biology and biochemistry, was on hand to give a lecture on the various environmental issues on campus.

The Earth Week Fair was held Tuesday in the Quad. Larry Thomsen, owner and operator of Thomsen Clayworks in Whittier, was invited to the fair to sell his clay pots.

After the Teach-In for Peace, Bill Hale and his family of the Navajo tribe came to make their political and personal statements on the conflict in the Balkans. They spoke to ULV students and faculty in attendance, then performed a dance.

Freshman Sanela Hadzihasanevic, (third from left), from Sarajevo was part of a panel of teachers and students assembled at the Teach-In for Peace to discuss the crisis in Kosovo. Dr. Kamol Somvichian, professor of political science, Campus Minister Debbie Roberts, and seniors Lisa Manley and Eddie Casarez were among the participants.

Members of debate team, junior Justin Jones-Rodrignez and sophomore Stefan Chacon, participated in an Earth Summit debate Tuesday in the Cabaret. The day's topic was "Population's Effects on the Environment."
