University of La Verne 35, Occidental College 3. University of California, Los Angeles 20, Ohio State University 42. What football game did you attend?

Apparently, due to a recent ticket offer, some would like La Verne students and staff to attend UCLA's game rather than ULV's game

The Human Resources Department, along with UCLA athletics, has offered the faculty and student body a ticket package for all UCLA home games, played on Saturdays, at the price of $35.

There is only one problem with this: The ULV football team also plays on Saturdays.

"This is the first year of the program," said Scott Mitchell, of UCLA athletics. "It is a trial run."

"We sent out memos to area universities," said Mitchell. "La Verne, among others, responded to the offer. The program is an attempt to increase the game-day atmosphere at our games.

"It is possible so that college students and employees might be able to attend games that they might not be able to otherwise."

Human Resources distributed the ticket information.

"UCLA athletics contacted us. We approved the plan and it was distributed to school employees," said Oris Barber head of the Human Resource Department.

The Human Resources Department forwarded the information to the attention of Dr. Loretta Rahmani, dean of Student Affairs, for student distribution.

Dr. Rahmani admitted, on second thought, that the program might not be a good idea.

How will the program affect the participating schools athletics in which the majority of football games are played on Saturdays?

"I think it will not affect support for teams either way," said Mitchell.

ULV head football coach Don Morel agreed.

"We have not been affected by the ticket program thus far," Morel said.

"I don't think it was a well thought out plan, but I would hope that our students and teachers would choose to support our school before another," he added.
