What type of training is available for Faculty?

The Center for Teaching & Learning offers monthly faculty workshops to assist with the process of building an online course component. Some of these distance learning workshops include:

The Center for Teaching & Learning staff is available to meet with faculty to provide one-on-one assistance with technology and the pedagogical issues involved in online course design. The initial meeting will enable the CTL staff to discuss your current teaching method and style, and introduce you to the online teaching environment including providing you with a username and password for Blackboard. Subsequent meetings will provide training and support in the completion of the online course creation.

The CTL has designed an online experience for faculty to explore the resources, tools, and techniques for teaching online. Blackboard 117: Introduction to Blackboard Online and Blackboard 118: Theories Into Practice with Blackboard Online, provide a support framework through which both experienced and inexperienced online or hybrid course instructors can not only access information, but share teaching techniques and best practices.
