Featured Faculty - May 2007

The Featured Faculty Program was developed in an effort to recognize and celebrate the contributions of faculty in enhancing student learning through the use of curriculum and technology strategies in the classroom. The Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking nominations for faculty who excel in the use of technology for teaching and learning in a number of areas, such as instructional design, strategies in the classroom, online learning, mentoring and research. Applications for nomination are gathered from both faculty and students at the University of La Verne. One faculty will be selected per month during the fall and winter semesters. Faculty winners are featured in campus publications, and are highlighted in programs throughout the year.

Bill Bearley, Ed.D.
College of Education and Organizational Leadership (CEOL)
Professor of Organizational Leadership

Dr. Bill Bearley, Professor of Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne, shares his knowledge and experience in blended learning at the Hybrid and Blended Teaching Symposium sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning in April 2007. The doctoral students in the blended program have the benefit of webcast technology to deliver content to any location, as well as face-to-face interaction. The technology allows students to interact and communicate in virtual teams, participate in webinars, and access the learning resources through the ULV library system. The students also meet face-to-face in practicums and local learning groups for skill development, research, and coaching.
