Blackboard ULV Online Student Links Faculty Links
History: In the Fall of 2004, the CTL was approached to develop an online readiness program to assist faculty in transferring traditional courses to the online environment. In the Summer of 2005, the CTL piloted the two self-paced online academies for this purpose, and recently (Fall 2006) the ULV Online Policy passed Faculty Senate and Faculty Assembly, respectively.
The CTL certification is a two part process wherein faculty persons learn basics of using Blackboard (117) and advance to designing hybrid, or fully online courses based on best practices in online course design and delivery.
During your time in this process, you will be working with instructional designers, Blackboard experts, and faculty members who have face to face, online, and web experience. We welcome feedback at any point in this process in order to best serve your needs. You will find the same certification materials in both courses, though only one set of forms is required for the class that you intend to put online. Blackboard 118 is your culminating experience so we offer these materials as preview to what you will encounter later. However, you may find that they are useful to plan current courses.
Please read the documents below for more information on becoming certified to teach online.
